BCSA union members transfer into Community
“I am very excited for BCSA to be a part of the Community family…”
Members of the Blue Chip Staff Association (BCSA) have transferred into Community. The transfer was confirmed this week by the Certification Officer, the government’s trade union regulator. Over 1500 members, who work across a range of public and private sector employers, are now part of Community. The transfer was completed following an overwhelming vote in favour by the BCSA membership.
Community’s General Secretary, Roy Rickhuss, welcomed the new members:
“I’d like to give a warm welcome to all BCSA members. I am sure BCSA will continue to provide the daily support that members expect, but now they and their members will have access to more help, benefits and services through being part of Community.
“Community is growing its membership across the UK economy and this transfer will open up more opportunities for us to organise workers in a wider range of employers.”
Ted Purcell, General Secretary of BCSA said:
“I am very excited for BCSA to be a part of the Community family and look forward to working closely with Community to help strengthen and build our combined membership whilst enhancing the service provided to all members.”
Community staff will be working closely with the BCSA team in the coming weeks and months to let members know about how to make the most of their new Community membership.
